Wettone Matthews become a Xero certified partner

Wettone matthews and xeroAlton based accountants Wettone Matthews are now a certified Xero partner.

After undergoing some rigorous training, Wettone Matthews has become one of around 220 accountants in the UK to become a certified Xero partner.

Xero now boasts more than 100,000 users in 100 countries.

Wendy Croucher of Wettone Matthews commented:

An Olympic performance from Somerstock

It is not often that a nursery has a customer wanting plants for a whole village, although this happened to Somerstock this year.

And it is not just any village but the Olympic Village at Osprey Quay, in Portland, Dorset, home of the sailing competition during the London 2012 Games.

Somerstock customer, Giles Woodford, a Dorchester based garden designer was awarded the contract for planting the Olympic Village, and after first visiting Somerstock, at their new South West Landscapers Centre in Piddletrenthide, Dorset he placed several orders and told of of his tendering for the Olympic project.

Make it happen with Makita at Creating Landscapes

MakitaI'm sure you have heard of Makita, well if you want to check out some of their cordless hand tools get along to the Creating Landscapes Trade Show in October.

Marshalls to host UK’s first United Nations Global Compact educational supplier event

Marshalls-button Marshalls is jointly hosting a United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) supplier event in collaboration with the UNGC UK Network on the 3rd of October; the first event of its kind in the UK.

The event will enable Marshalls’ first tier suppliers, both from the UK and overseas, to gain a greater understanding of the UNGC and the ten principles which drive signatories’ actions regarding human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.

Suppliers will also hear first-hand from the groups CEO, marketing director and procurement director, about Marshalls’ work in each of these areas and in particular how the plc’s approach regarding anti-corruption and human rights will further shape the company’s procurement processes moving forward.

A solution for worm casts on lawns

CastclearThe Lawn Company is offering a solution to the problem of worm casts on lawns with CastClear which is effective for up to 20 days on domestic lawns.

Mike Seaton, managing director and founder of The Lawn Company, will be attending the Creating Landscapes show in October where people will be able to find out more about CastClear.

The products is a non pesticide, nutrient based product containing soil penetrates and organic sulphur which controls worm casts in lawns and sports turf.

It is mixed with water and applied as a blanket spray with a garden sprayer at 16-20 day intervals across a lawn with repeat applications only one third of the initial dose rate.

Reach It! Move It! Crush It! roll up to the show

The team behind Reach It! Move It! Crush It! will be rolling in to the Creating Landscapes Trade Show in October.

The company supplies transportable soil screening and concrete crushing machines, enabling landscapers to see how they can recycle materials that would otherwise be considered waste and create costs.

Drop in on Deeleys at the show


Deeleys will be bringing their new hedge cutting attachments to the Creating Landscapes show.

The hedge cutting equipment can be attached to Avant machinery, enabling contractors to work swiftly and safely - the video above provides an example of how it works.
