Meadowmat from Q Lawns is rolled out

A new landscaping material, called Meadowmat, has been launched by Q Lawns enabling anyone to create a wild flower meadow of any size.

Meadowmat is a mix of 34 species of native wild flowers and grasses and it is perfect for gardeners who want a low maintenance area that also attracts wildlife.

Once it is established, Meadowmat will flower between Spring and Autumn and will support all manner of creatures from bees and butterflies to birds, insects and amphibians.

Bollards Direct online store opened by Marshalls

The man responsible for Marshalls' e-commerce initiatives is Gareth Robinson and a project he has just launched is Bollards Direct.

Gareth has written about how Marshalls came to the decision to launch the site.

"We knew there was a demand for buying street furniture via the Internet as a number of businesses already operated in the space," Gareth said.

Events taking place at Capel Manor

Our host for the Creating Landscapes show in October is Capel Manor College, found 400 yards from Junction 25 of the M25, to the north of London.

But if you want to get a taste of the area before then why not visit the gardens? There are a number of events taking place in the next few weeks.

The Pink Tap heads to the show

Jill Foxley and her award winning Pink Tap garden design are heading to the Creating Landscapes show.

The Pink Tap will be a fantastic meeting place at Capel Manor as there is seating around it where you can take a well earned rest after strolling along seeing the variety of stands.

The brilliant pink turns heads, and standing three metres high apparently only supported by its cascading water, you can watch as people scratch their heads and wonder if their eyes are deceiving them.

Jill, founder of garden design firm The Perfumed Garden, won a Silver Gilt medal for the Pink Tap at the RHS Hampton Court Flower show last year and it was the main feature for EcoBuild's Water Wise attraction in March.

And Jill's tap is being noted around the world, with it already ticked off by the Giant Tap Spotters' Club and placed on a Google map.

So look out for a chance to go tap spotting yourself this October at Capel Manor.
