Creating Landscapes adds up for LandPRO

Liberrate Sam Hassall, of LandPRO, will be bringing along to the Creating Landscapes Show his 'best in class' LiberRATE estimating system for landscape contractors.

LiberRATE provides a firm basis for estimating landscape and garden costs, managing change and landscape and external works project cost control.

Sam studied civil engineering and landscape construction management abroad, completing his studies in 1982.

Safer, quieter and greener hedging at Nymans

One of the National Trusts’ flagship properties in the south of England, Nymans near Haywards Heath in West Sussex, has switched to battery power to keep a characteristic feature looking its best, and now there’s no turning back.

Last summer, the garden department at the hugely popular attraction bought four lithium battery-powered Pellenc Helion hedgecutters from South East Groundcare, an authorised dealer for Etesia, to take over the work of electric machines powered by a noisy petrol generator.

Accountancy firm Wettone Matthews to attend show

Wettone-matthewsIf your cash flow is damned up, or you've had it with the VAT, then you will be pleased to know that Wettone Matthews are attending the Creating Landscapes Show.

The Hampshire-based chartered certified accountants will be able to offer advice on a range of business issues, from annual accounts to bookkeeping; payroll to company formation.

Already Tim Wettone has been offering tips and advice to Landscape Juice network members on subjects such as whether courses are tax deductible and when is it right to become a limited company.

Plans just a click away with the Paving Generator

The Paving Generator is a tool for planning the hard landscaping elements of a domestic project.

Trees for Cities seminar at Creating Landscapes Show

Dave-farebrother From a degree in astrophysics to being a director of the environmental team at Land Securites, the UK's largest commercial property company, Dave Farebrother has seen the importance of sustainability grow.

He will be sharing some of his experiences and advice at a seminar during the Creating Landscapes Show titled Trees for Cities which will look at biodiversity for landscapers and developers.

Some of the subjects Dave will be covering include the creation of green walls and roofs, as well as the use of trees in planters and the important role bees play.

Cactus and succulent show at Capel Manor College

Cacti-lee-valley If you want to find out more about cacti then drop in on the Lea Valley Cactus and Succulent Show, taking place at Capel Manor College.

The annual show runs from Saturday May 28, 2011 until Monday, May 30, the weekend of the Bank Holiday so there is plenty of opportunity to visit the show.

Cacti come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The tallest is Pachycereus pringlei, with a maximum recorded height of 19.2 m, and the smallest is Blossfeldia liliputiana, only about 1 cm in diameter at maturity.
